My first painting of 2025 is complete, and of course it's giving gothic vibes 💁♀️
Gothic imagery has inspired me for as long as i can remember. There's something romantic and beautiful about the dark atmosphere that draws me in. The mysterious and otherworldly qualities is something I feature very often in my paintings, and feel most inspired when listening to dark/ambient music or having watching a gothic film.
For this painting I felt called to use lots of red, which always creates a powerful and striking vision, and of course is always a firm favourite with my customers and followers too! I had the very loose idea of almost cloud like shapes covering the whole canvas. Everything else was intuition based and to my imagination. I finished with gold highlights to really bring the painting to life.
