Bio

 

Describing her work as 'Energy on canvas', Louise Pittam is an intuitive abstract artist from Fraserburgh Aberdeenshire. Her mixed media approach conveys the mood and energy of her art.
With a college background in graphic design and photography, Pittam always had a creative mind, but her true passion for painting never came to light until lockdown 2020, picking up a paintbrush for the first time merely as a hobby. The pass time quickly became a means of expression, and outlet during the time spent at home.

Louise creates both original paintings, and custom commission for the customer that loves to adorn their space with unique, statement art that tells a story.

Artist Statement

I like to paint in layers. Adding smudges, messy brush strokes, and paint runs to the canvas. For me, they represent the complexity of human emotions. How each and every one of us has many layers within us. Yet amidst the chaos, is something beautiful. All of the layers and impulsive brush strokes is complete with delicate gold leaf, and shimmering metallics. For me, these elements are what makes my art feel complete. A true representation of being human in abstract form.
